The 2026 Adjuster Intelligence Report is here.

I told you subscribers would get it first, so here it is before it goes anywhere else. I’ll be breaking it down in detail later this morning during my weekly livestream on LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, and TikTok.

Sixty-four working claims adjusters answered anonymously in the month of August. Pay, burnout, remote work, why they'd leave.

Here are some of the highlights:

Remote isn't a perk anymore, and you can hear it in how people answer

Sixty-three percent of adjusters prefer fully remote work environments. That part I expected, I hear it every day.

What I didn't expect was how cleanly it tracks with experience. Sixty-seven percent under three years. Fifty-three and fifty-five in the middle. And then every single adjuster with fifteen or more years, all eleven of them, said fully remote. Zero wanted hybrid. Zero wanted an office.

Pay came in fourth

I asked what would most likely make someone leave their current job. Bad management came first at 28%. Lack of growth second at 27%. Burnout third at 22%. Pay was fourth at 16%.

I expected pay to win. It didn't, and it wasn't close.

We all know the line about people quitting their boss instead of their job. Turns out it’s pretty accurate.

The middle of a claims career is a different animal

At three to seven years, the top reason people leave is bad management. Twelve of thirty said so.

At eight to fifteen years, management complaints fall off a cliff, down to two of twenty. What replaces it is burnout and lack of growth, tied, seven of twenty each.

So mid-career adjusters aren't burned out or stuck. They're both, at the same time. They've got enough experience to see the ceiling and enough work on their desk that they don't have the energy to do anything about it.

A few other things in there

Fifty-six percent feel fairly paid, 31% don't. The ones who feel fairly paid recommend this career 83% of the time. The ones who don't, 55%.

Sixteen people answered an optional question about what would keep them long-term. One of them wrote four words. Not lie to me.

Sixty-nine percent would still tell someone to get into claims.

If you took the time to fill out the survey, thank you so much. I found the results very interesting. Feel free to share with a friend or your manager!

Beyond the Desk

There are just over four months left in 2026.

That's enough time to do the thing you've been putting off. The race, the license, the certification, the conversation you keep not having.

So go sign up for the uncomfortable thing. Today, not January.

LETS GO.
